CSC Invitational

I won the most stupidest and impressive move of the day…..well I think I did?
I attacked nearly 2 laps into the race and never saw the pack again until Hilton Clark (Navigators) and I were caught with just about 10 laps to go (Brent Brookwaters had crashed out of our break)!  A 100 lap race, 1 lap = 1km, so that means I was off the front for nearly 88 kms!!!!  Some how I still stayed in the group to place 8th in the group sprint, although I sort of screwed my teammate Rahsaan Bahati in the sprint, because I could not get him into better position for the final sprint.  I think that I rode so well because I ate a great meal at Rahsaan’s friend “Tiny”s house.  WOW that meal and totally atmosphere was great.  The few of us TIAA-Cref riders that went really enjoyed ourselves.  Thanks “Tiny” (250 lb 6ft5in guy)  Even better was the fact that Kirk Bowman and his lovely family was able to come watch the race.  See you soon Bowman’s.

That was one hell of a ride yesterday. I felt so bad for you when the peloton caught up, but when I shook your hand after the race you were obviously pretty happy with things. You’ve got good reason to be proud. Next time my legs feel like lead on a ride, when I usually tell myself “OK, Lance wouldn’t crap out now”, instead I’ll picture you dragging Hilton Clark for almost two hours and not giving up. Incredible!

    Hey Brad,

One of your teammates had a nasty crash right in front of me. I stood with him for a while waiting for the EMT’s. I never got his name (my kids refer to him as “Bloody Face”). Who is he, and more importantly, how is he?

88 out of 100 laps off the front? That sounds like a points race to me! Damn Huffy, they punked you! You should have won ;-) Pretty impressive to still pull off a 7th place. Later, Stefan
