Ya ya, I went down, I think I touched the guy next to me first, but for heavens sake I do not think that the slight bump needed a chain reaction.  Coming from the Midwest land of Criteriums and Criteriums, Schmatz and I are convienced that Colorado boys need a little more criterium handling skills in there blood.  But I am not really excited about lending some of my own to get them there.  Ya that is not what I had in mind.  Luckily the lovely Lara Pate and Amy Creed and Noreen Landis-Tyson (on the right of the photo in the big Oakley shades) were their to make sure I was ok.  As I picked myself up off the ground I was right up against the barrier and I actually felt Lara reach out and feel my shoulder/collar bone area just to make sure I was ok…..she is so good to me.  I was not in a happy mood after this little mishap….and if you look in the back of the photo there are about 3 people pointing to the ground telling me that I dropped my bar end plug…..so I turned around looked at them, look at the silver bar end plug on the ground, thought in my head……”what are they talking about, my bar end plugs are obviously black”, turned in disgust and dragged myself back over to the pit for some well needed help.
