thanks goes out to Peter Knoop and Super V for helping me let people understand….”when a good ranger goes bad”
Ya I am out in Santa Barbara, CA getting my overhaul from Ernie Ferrel the Super Star Chiro friend of mine from way back. Shorts and a Jersey is just about all I need on ride days, unless I am just spinning easy then knee warmers. The weather here is just amazing, but even better than the weather is the location, I am just over a mile from the beach, probably a 30-45min ride to get to some major climbs, and well shit it is just unbelievable here. I have to give props to Ernie for allowing me into his home. California is just a different style than most of America, you would understand if you have been here or if you knew this guy

Another thing that is great is that I am at Sea Level! So that means I sleep like a rock. When one comes from altitude to sea level, there first few days and usually a few more than that are lights out from pillow to morning coffee, very nice!
I cannot wait for Saturday to come, because a very special someone is coming my way!

So over the last 3 weeks that I have been back in Colorado I have managed to drag myself up the incline 7 times and tomorrow will be the 8th. Talk about a tough hike. Just click on the link above and you will get an idea of the difficulty of this straight up hike. 1 mile straight up the Incline then 4 mile hike down the Barr Trail(much more forgiving) in Manitou Springs. I am quickly humbled on this hike everytime I attempt it. I take my hiking poles….aka vagina sticks, so that I do not totally destroy my knee’s on the downhill portion of the trail. I have been lucky enough to head out with the Tuesday Super Star Night twice and both times I think that I have been atleast 5 minutes behind the main group everytime…..Pro caliber huh? I think it is helping make me stronger?

Friedman has explained his whole problem in detail. This is a great story from his side.
Ya just as I stated earlier, Mike is baking away, cookies, pies, turkeys, just about anything you can think of. He is carring himself very well considering everything that is going on.
As for me, I am starting my 3rd week of riding out of the saddle, but the good thing is that I can start to slowing integrate sitted portions of my ride. Thank God, because my knees are pretty achie. Once I pass the 2hr mark my knees just say ouch. Plus it still doesn’t help when Danny Pate is dropping me on his Mountain bike and I am on my road bike.
Hey 650….FUCK YOU!

Meatball has been released from the hospital and is staying at his mothers house, were he is sure to cook a hundred cookies a day and eat 6.5 of them. He has to take shots into his stomach to assist? or control the clot/clotting time of his blood? He will be doing this for a week, then I think he is only on Cumodin(blood thinner). He hopes to be able to be physically active in a week or two, as for now he was instructed that he can start to walk in a few days. Although he mentioned that any form of physical activity brings pain to his chest/shoulder/breathing, so we shall see how the week goes.
It is amazing what this guy has been through over the past year, please keep him in your thoughts.
Many of you people know him, many of you might not. This guy has more determination and will power than just about anybody I have ever seen. He has been tried and tested for most of his cyclist and athlete carreer. Accusations, speculations, finger pointing, and much more. He has built me up so much that I cannot even begin to think about where I would be without him in my training, racing, and normal life. Ya I know that I have other friends that I am close with and that I have been around for many years, but Mike and me….it is just different. Not Homosexual different, but more of a great friendship and relationship that has been built over the past 2ish years.
What am I getting at…….
Well Mike has a huge problem and needs your prayers. He has a blood clot in his lungs most likely caused from his long journey across the country back to PA. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is facing a possiable 3 to 6 months of no real racing or training due to the medications. Right now he is starting a two day stay in a PA hospital for monitoring.
I just do not know what more to say…………….I miss ya buddy
Allen Lim folks. Core strength for the individual on the go!
For a complete overhaul thanks to Dr. Ernie Ferrel. I am hoping to get rid of some of my nagging injuries and complaints. Wow just think I might actually be able to ride with out fear of complete self distruction next year? Well I think that it will happen anyway because of the level of races we will be doing.
Boulder is a place…..maybe I shouldn’t say anything about Boulder, because many of my friends live there? Well Boulder is a place that is just strange where Trustifarians can be found……strange place. AMAZING riding, but a strange place. So I mooched off Allen Lim PhD for nearly 5 days and nights, although we did have a great time and I really enjoyed getting to learn about his family and normal daily activities. I am now HOOKED on a Goji Berry Green tea concoxtion that Allen has been drinking since he was a little kid attempting to learn English by reading an entire years suscriptions to Reader’s Digest! Truth!
Oh ya, Allen, Chris Fortune (owner of Graber/Saris/PowerTap), Chris ?(Head of Bicycling/Backpacker Mag’s), and I had dinner with Will Farrell. Yup that is right Will was eating dinner just two tables from us at “The Kitchen” in Boulder. Pretty cool, so I ran over and stabbed a knife into his leg to help him remember that he is not paralyzed. Then I took a handfull of his French Fries and said “YOU KNOW IT!”
Now I am back in Blue Collar Colorado Springs, which is about the polar oppisite of Boulder.
