I pretty much did it the hardest way possible. Group of 10 gets off the front about a half lap up, 2 riders chase them out of the group, then there is me firing off a hail mary to bridge. It is much MUCH easier to lap the field with nearly 10 guys as it is solo bridging to a small group, then lapping. On the rivet was I! I went for it at least. Everything and the kitchen sick seemed to being through at the fan….this was a mega-shit hitting the fan race (as was Creed’s Points Race). I somehow bridged to a very select group near the end of the race, only to make the wrong pull and the perfectly timed swing up, as the Argentinean Perez and the Polish rocket attacked our group. So I was instantly gapped, I gave it full throttle only to loose more positions then by the line I was overtaken like I was sitting still. Thankfully I had the one lap up on a few guys and came in 9th. Hopefully that gave USA a qualifying spot for Worlds?
Creed killed it in the points race, his 1st ever World Cup Points Race, and rode pretty swell as I see it. He rode on guts, went with attacks, bridged to attacks, and went for 1 or 2 solos, but alas he was pretty marked as he and David “Irish” O’loughlin lapped the field pretty handily in the qualifier. Once he and I get this World Cup racing figured out…look out!
