super sweet riding let me tell you. Friedman made the remark as fat by day hot by night….well this tells it all.
hot.jpg
happygrover.jpgvegas can even turn Grover in to a Happy Grover….I think that laughing uncontrollable at his friends helpedpole.jpg
onthepole.jpgLook close that is me….the First guy to attempt to get on the middle pole, only to be ripped of by a Man Giant of a bouncer. Every other guy that attempted to get up there only lasted about 5 to 7 seconds….I was up there for at least 20seconds!!!
guyonguy.jpgGuess Friedman and Lim had to settle for each other?
daboys.jpg
Even Muscles showed up to do some form checks on the strip. He was actually hired by the chip’n'dales but his new contract wouldn’t allow him to wear thong spandex?
brothers.jpgand a nice limo ride with the Wells Brothers to finish the night off.
oh ya and that bike race thing? what can I say, but that it was 120 guys on a 1km course that was held in a parking lot….well it was about the best parking lot crit that I have ever done. World Parking lot Championships, they should have included a burnout competition (Danny Pate), fastest lap competition (Doug Greek), and show class award(Ashley Burchfield would have won), because they already had the umbrella girls and the drunk spectators.

what can I say that was one of my best cycling experiences in a long long time. I was amazed by the total amount of support from not just my friends and family, but by just about every single person that lived or happen to be along the route. I mean I have not seen more blue jean over all’s since I last looked in to my Grandfather Osward’s closet. where do I begin???
from beginning to end it was literally amazing how many friends I saw. Significant people who helped get me in to cycling, people I raced against in cycling, people I will always look up to in cycling and life. so here is a little list that will leave people and things out, but I will at least give it a go.
Dad, Mom, Sister, Brother, Aunt, Grandma, Ben Rosenthal, Tom Gourley, Charlie M., Larry Oreilly, Old Midwest Racers who kicked my ass for years, a FFA T-Shirt just outside of Stockton, Gary S., the Greek’s!, Kirk Bowman,Bill Marshal for helping to make me feel special and his loyal crew of great men…especially big Roche’ who sweet more than I did in that TT, guy who told me he was going to the 08 Olympics in BMX, asking Contador to get me two bottles, telling Popovych and Levi L. that I would like a snickers from the car, Karl Menzies and I hesitating all race…well until the last stage, Ashley B. party, Old Cycles Unlimited friends, Greg A. with new glasses, racing on old roads that I have trained on, Juilet@Professional Massage Training Center getting to see that I told her so!, yelling at dinner that anybody who wants can come with us to get Andy’s Frozen Custard or go with me to see my Grandma Huff who lives just a mile down the road?, BOCOMO Friend and well I guess Butthead too and the hilarious blow up doll that was for sure Josh’s that someone was doing some type of exercises with up a Columbia hill, having the full 17km loop in STL lined with Fan’s…especially that one crazy Frank Pipp fan,
Of course the I heart Brad T-Shirts and the hard core group of my friends that were allowed to sport them:Bud Jerred, Cale, Jim, Mike M., Shane “upper crust” Nelson, Byron, so many people out there were wishing that they were cool enough to have one….like Tim Johnson, but alas only the few the proud the oh shit they just ran out of them so that is why they were not able to pass out more. Thank you Theresa for the kiss at the finish of the TT, sorry I was so out of it that I could not respond.
So please if you haven’t seen it go to youtube and search Brad Huff Crash or go to steephill.tv and click on the stage 6 tour of MO final 1km and you shall see the fireworks. I will say that I am one of the luckiest guys out there, I am very happy that I remembered to say a pray on that last lap in STL. You know only 4 riders would be able to survive that kind of a Crash: ME, Meatball, Karl Menzies, and the largest engine in USA Tom Zirbel…..I miss Tom!
there are various sights that I would also say that one needs to brouse. Chad Hartley’s Missing saddle blog has a great break dancing expose of cycling, my Springfield friend Skippy@ cyclingskip.blogspot.com has some great clips of the core group cheering me on in the TT, Bud Hogan’s blog-Hogan knows best on my site-has some great pics
Well I just can’t remember anymore…..It was truly amazing to have that much support! Thank you all!

TOM UPDATE

Monday, September 17th, 2007

I am some how ok. Very sore and stiff, but very thankful that I said a few prayers in the closing kilometers of the race.
More update later.

I HURT….ALOT.
some how I held on to the Discovery train today as they set tempo again. Although the painful increase in pressure on the hills did not make it that bearable. But I made it some how.
I am swell though

WOW
It has been amazing, what more can I say. I had no idea that it would be this crazy. Seeing my friends and family all over the courses has been truly unbelievable. I will say that I am so pissed at myself, because I have watched two sprints wins just ride away from me. Not saying that I was a shoe in to win the race, but I would have been able to do something if I would have actually had some confidence in myself and went for it. I have been right there for two sprint finishes and I have only hesitated when the little lull happens right before the real sprint starts. Disappointed only begins to state my feelings.
Thanks to all my amazing supports all over Missouri. This is amazing.

Univest opener

Will Frischkorn WON!!!
Timmy Duggan got screwed for 3rd and ended up 4th somehow……well we have attempted to figure this all out in our heads and logically it just does not make sense, but eh? that is bike racing
The whole field took a wrong turn and then was pulled out of the race….ya pulled out of the race once we hit the circuits!
I was in a no man’s land break with 3 other guys, then we got caught, then we caught a group, then I got dropped and pulled myself out of the race because I was freaked out about destroying myself too much going in to Tour of Missouri.
Timmy D and Will F are on fire right now and I just hope that I can have a glimmer of that in the coming week!

newest Friedman quote of the month “I’m spent….and sweaty” although this was not said in the context of riding a bike, but more so after eating a casual dinner with friends.

suck on this BUTTHEAD

ToM only a few days away

Friday, September 7th, 2007

well it is just a few days before the start of the Tour of Misery(Missouri). This aint going to be no easy task at all. I have been talking with the Might Bill Marshall and several of my local heros in the MO area and lets just say that I think that the peloton is going to be surprised by it all.
I just pray that my legs….pedal pedal pedal….but faster than others expect them too!
I am sure that I am going to realize just how huge this event is when I roll up to sign in on the first day to the last day of the race. I have been able to get some great training in over the past two weeks with my old training partner Mike Friedman and if dragging ourself up the old Thrift Drug Classic climb of Fillmore hill won’t help then I am sure that the Primanti Brothers sandwiches we downed after the Wednesday Night World Championship Crit(that I totally smoked Friedman in!!) will not help at all. http://www.rackdeal.com/primantibrothers/ I think that Cale Mac would have been proud of me….well only if I had gotten into a fight after the race, then eaten the Primanti Brothers sandwich, then purchased a steelers hat……I am not purchasing a steelers hat who am I kidding?

Chicken…..bad coupon….Chicken gave me a bad coupon! That is right it is on!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tour of Missouri push

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

so USPRO Championships was more of a hard training weekend for me than actual racing.  I remeber Mike Sayers yelling at me to stop warming up for the Road Race as it was not a criterium, although for me it pretty much was a criterium.  Because my main job was to pretty much destroy myself before we got to the 1st time up Paris Mountain (only a 10min climb, but very very difficult for a sprinter like myself).  I remember looking down and seeing only 15 or 20mins had gone by and I thought my legs were going to explode….I think that that was about the time that Jonny Sunt looked my way smiled and blew by Friedman and I as were were “attempting” to push the pace.  Thanks for the smile Jonny.  Some where around 1000kj per hour and 3hrs later Friedman and I were sitting atop Paris Mountain to cheer on our team mates.  Friedman and I were totally dropped the 2nd time up the climb (I was dropped the 1st but was able to chase back on because the pack sat up on the down hill….lucky for me).  I think that I might have gotten a few more good times and possible race finishes if I had hit up the Gateway Cup in STL instead????  Well I atleast know I would have beaten Butthead and Doug Greek…..well maybe?
I am guessing that all of you heard that I am also not going to be racing with Slipstream for 08, ya it is true….
